Providing Much More Than a Meal

Join an incredible team of volunteers making a positive impact in our community, all while passing on the values of kindness, compassion and civic responsibility. Volunteers change lives and….

  • are often the only contact our clients have all day.
  • provide a warm smile and a caring attitude.
  • are a safety check to help ensure our customer’s well-being.
  • serve as the eyes and ears of Meals on Wheels, often alerting the organization to clients that may have additional needs.

Volunteer Information

1

Volunteer to deliver a meal when you’re able, whether that’s scheduling a regular day of the week/month, to as little as one hour or as many hours as you’d like.
2

Drivers deliver meals five days a week, Monday through Friday. For clients requesting seven days of meals, an extra meal is delivered on both Thursday and Friday.
3

Delivering meals involves driving to the program site, picking up the meals and delivering them to the residences. For each client, drivers deliver a hot meal, drink and dessert.
4

Bonita Spring MOW meals are picked up at the First Presbyterian Church on Bonita Beach Road in Bonita Springs.
5

The amount of time a driver socializes with the client is dependent on both the volunteer and client. Most often clients greet the drivers at their doorstep and engage in a few minutes of conversation.
